Orchha in a day- ensconced in history and nature

Orchha, a small historical town ensconced in the natural beauty of surrounding forests and the river Betwa is a tourist delight in the northern part of Madhya Pradesh in India. With beautiful historical monuments scattered in different parts of the city accompanied with serene forests and river banks, Orchha is still largely unencumbered by the regular hustle and bustle of tourists and travellers which only adds to its charm.

The nearest major railway station is in Jhansi which is a few km away from the city. While many tourists make their way directly from Delhi to the tourism destination triangle of Jhansi, Orchha and Khajuraho, some resume their journey from Agra which is about 200 km away from Jhansi. This account begins from Agra Cantt Railway Station and narrates a full day’s account of a sojourn to Orchha.
